The Day of the Dead is one of the most recognized traditional celebrations of Mexican culture.

Its origin dates back to the pre-Hispanic era and responds to the Aztec civilization's conception of death. The fate of the deceased was marked by the way they lived and death was understood as part of the cycle that is life, a natural law that we must accept without regret.

The celebration takes place on November 1 and 2. The dead return for 24 hours and for this reason the families decorate and clean the graves, bring tequila and empanadas and celebrate the life (and death) of the deceased remembering all those things that pleased them in life.
